Our Mission
The Dancing Goat DME (Durable Medical Equipment) is a registered non-profit organization that serves under-insured or non-insured individuals by providing them with gently used medical equipment at no cost to better assist them in their day to day living.
How We Started
The Dancing Goat got it’s start as a 4-H project for one young girl, Leah, whose objective was to serve her community and those in it that are disabled. In doing this, Leah began collecting gently used medical equipment from individuals and families in the area. Her goal was to offer this medical equipment for free to those in need in Rockingham County.
As Leah began to help and serve her community by delivering the equipment, the demand and amount of referrals grew exponentially. This led to her mom, Kathy, taking notice of a specific group of people who were under-served.
Kathy started the research process in how to acquire funds, grants, donations and eventually the 501c3 status to extend what began as a 4-H project into a fully functioning, legal non-profit organization.
The Dancing Goat now serves Rockingham County, NC entirely and some parts of the surrounding counties.
